What was the large rock that they had cut and polished? What was the name of the outcropping they found that contained this rock. I remember it sounded like some spanish name but can't remember. They carried this huge rock for a pretty good distance and took it to a stone cutter and had it cut and polished. In the program they mentioned that on the other side of the mountain road ahead was area 51. Wish I lived closer to Arizona, and out west, to go there and rock hound a bit, but being on the east coast not something that I would be able to do on a fun weekend!

There are lots of people who've gone to this dry lake and hunted for meteorites. Many thousands of meteorites have been found on dry lake beds in California, Arizona, and Nevada.

Is there any danger of flash flooding in dry lake beds in the spring time? I imagine you'd need to be prepared for this. I used to live in NV and drove the state many times over for work. I recall the weather was usually nice, but little flash storms were not uncommon.

The thing is, I know close to where they were. If you watch the show you will see the 4-sevens motel in Ely and they filled up at the Sinclair gas station on the Ely Shoshone reservation. I have lived in the area for 10-years, so I know the area like the back of my hand. They tried to hide their location, but to those of us that are familiar with the area, it was obvious where they were; the lake bed they were on was off from Strawberry road.
