    I witnessed a Hugh fireball as a kid in the 60′s. It went dark before impact so not sure if it did or not. I remember lots of silver like particles falling after it burnt out. How could I research this
    If I remember right the sun had just set behind a hill or was very close to setting. It was still very light and no stars were visible yet and non of the street lights were yet on.
    I seen this in the town of Blue Lake CA. in the very northern coastal part of the state. Sometime around 1966 but could have been later or earlier than that. I am guessing it was either spring or summertime.
