UPDATE May 11th 2009: The Meteorite Men premier was last night, did you watch it? The adventure comic theme was fabulously thought up and gave a wonderful treasure hunting feel to the show. It’s been a long time coming and meteorite enthusiasts from all over the world have been waiting for a long time for a show like this. If  the show got good reviews there’s a good chance the Science Channel will turn it into a series.

Are you ready for the Meteorite Men? Got your TIVO and DVR’s programmed to record the show? Are you as excited about the show as other meteorite enthusiasts? Well appartently you are going to be in for a treat.

The Meteorite Men is a new TV show on the Science Channel about meteorites and the men who hunt them set to premier on May 10th 2009 at 9pm. If you’re a meteorite enthusiast, hunter, collector, astronomer or scientist this show is for you. The show’s stars Steve Arnold & Geoff Notkin and promises to be the most exciting meteorite related TV show in history, in fact it’s the first one dedicated specifically to meteorites and the men who hunt them. Here’s hoping it lives up to the buzz. I know I’m personally stoked about the new show. Geoff & Steve worked tirelessly to bring this show to life, and meteorites into the mainstream, perhaps with this shows success will spawn a new generation of meteorite collectors, enthusiasts and yes meteorite hunters as well.

In August of 2007 when I first got into the world meteorites that not a few months before my girlfreind and I had watched the cable channel show Cash & Treasures. This was the show that introduced me to meteorites and peaked my interest in hunting meteorites for fun, finance and science. Who would have thought not much more than 2 years from then I would be hunting and finding meteorites myself and doing this as a full time business. Thanks go out to Geoff and Steve for doing that show and this one as well. We’re looking forward to it.
